چکیده
There has been considerable research in recent years on the additive manufacturing (AM) of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) parts based process fused deposition modeling (FDM). The currently-applied steps within pipeline, such as slicing and path planning, consider only planar case filament mostly make no use possibility to place single pre-impregnated (prepreg) filaments. Classical methods tape-laying laminating struggle with highly curved complex geometries require costly production molds, whereas when using AM, these can be realized more easily molds created same process. In this paper, a set algorithms is presented that aims resolve problems. Criteria are formulated which enable goal oriented development evaluation represent metrics for future methods. developed both continuous discontinuous patches much wider range applications designing CFRPs. Multi-tool and Multi-axis CNC Accumulation for Fabricating Conformal Features on Curved Surfaces
In engineering systems, features such as textures or patterns on curved surfaces are common. In addition, such features, in many cases, are required to have shapes that are conformal to the underlying surfaces. To address the fabrication challenge in building such conformal features on curved surfaces, a newly developed additive manufacturing (AM) process named Computer Numerically Controlled (...

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies have been successfully applied in various applications. Fused deposition modeling (FDM), one of popular AM techniques, is most widely used method for manufacturing of plastic materials. Due to the poor strength properties of pure plastic materials, there is a critical need to improve mechanical properties for FDMfabricated pure plastic parts. One of the ...

Curved screens are increasingly being used for high-resolution immersive visualization environments. We describe a new technique to display seamless images using overlapping projectors on curved quadric surfaces such as spherical or cylindrical shape. We define a new quadric image transfer function and show how it can be used to achieve sub-pixel registration while interactively displaying two ...
متن کاملHybrid Composites Based on Carbon Fiber/Carbon Nanofilament Reinforcement
Carbon nanofilament and nanotubes (CNTs) have shown promise for enhancing the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composites (FRPs) and imparting multi-functionalities to them. While direct mixing of carbon nanofilaments with the polymer matrix in FRPs has several drawbacks, a high volume of uniform nanofilaments can be directly grown on fiber surfaces prior to composite fabrication. This...
متن کاملPhotometric stereo on carbon fiber surfaces∗
The production of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is currently changing from a highly manual and expensive to an automated process. However for automated production of CFRP parts new sensor systems for quality control are required. In this article we present a photometric stereo inspection system that is able to automatically evaluate critical quality criteria of carbon fiber fabrics. Ba...
